By | December 3, 2021

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Industry veteran Gene Higgins is making a comeback in the entertainment world since retiring. Higgins has years of expertise and experience including roles as an executive producer of twenty major ICM and CCMA award shows, founder of the Christian Inspirational Country Music Association, Editor-in-Chief of Power Source Magazine and HMG Nashville, a radio compilation disc service, concept video producer, and more. He has decided to dedicate this new adventure to the memory of his wife, Brenda, who recently passed from a three-year cancer battle and also had major involvement in CCMA, ICM, and Power Source Magazine.

With this new journey, the new ‘Gene Higgins Consulting Firm’ will consult, produce, direct, and distribute independent and major motion picture productions across multiple media verticals, including MC1 Nashville, Dark Lonesome Films, Parade Stormer Productions, and more.

“I want to experience and empower the hands-on job of a film producer to learn all the tricks of the trade,” shares Higgins. “Then, I plan to create the ‘Music City Movie Network’ to give a permanent home to independent films and to create the first ‘Galaxy Independent Motion Picture Awards’ show. In the near future, I will be meeting with investors and partners to bring the vision and dream to reality. It’s our goal to start at the top, not the bottom.”
Higgins will also continue to consult and work with broadcast media and creatives in all genres of music including labels, songwriters, publishers, and associations to develop “A Better Road To Travel In The Music Business”. Higgins has been working with a high-tech firm since retirement to improve a network beneficial to all. Higgins is looking forward to everything 2022 has in store!
